How to reach our Syros base in Finikas.
Syros Harbor and Airport are located 12 km from Finikas Marina.
You can come to Syros via Athens’s, or Mykonos’s international airports and from there to Syros:
Flights
There are domestic flights from Athens to Syros with Sky Express. Useful Internet address: Sky Express, or www.airtickets.com.
Ferries
There are daily high-speed vessels and ferries from Athens (Piraeus, Rafina or Lavrion), with a duration of trip from 2 to 4,5 hours approximately, or from Mykonos (45 minutes approx.). Note that in Greece the ferry companies give their binding schedules, only very short-termed. Useful Internet addresses: www.fastferries.com.gr, www.bluestarferries.com, www.hellenicseaways.gr, www.openseas.gr. For the ferry schedules the best web site is the: http://www.openseas.gr from where you can see the ferries from all companies (change language on top right – but don’t make a reservation there). Just check the schedules and when you find which ones suits you best, go to the specific company’s direct link as above, to make your online reservation. Do not forget to check the schedules not only from Piraeus to Syros but also from Rafina and from Lavrion. There is a very nice new fast ferry from Rafina that takes only 2 hours to Syros (www.fastferries.com.gr) which we believe that is the best.
Keep in your mind that a taxi from Athens new airport "El. Venizelos" to Piraeus harbor needs about 60–120 minutes. You can also take the express airport bus line to Piraeus (departs approx. every 20–40 min., internet: www.aia.gr).
Local Bus
The bus departs from the ferry harbor every 1/2 - 1 hour. The bus arrives in Finikas approximately 400m from the pier.
Taxi
You can find limited taxis at Syros Harbor or Airport.
Transfer (strongly proposed)
If you wish, we can organize your taxi transfer from the port or airport of Syros. It will take you about 20 minutes to your Yacht with a cost of approx. 15-25.- € per taxi. We strongly propose that because this way you reduce the risk of waiting. Please note that the base personnel is not permanently standing at the base, so therefore we certainly must be informed for your arrival time.

Your provisions can be organized by the Cyclades Team (only upon request). Your order will be on board upon your arrival.
Parking Area
The Marina of Finikas has a limited free parking area.
Bank Transactions
At Syros Town you can find several banks. Banks are open 08:00 - 13:30 Monday - Friday and they all provide cash machines. There is an ATM automatic cash machine close to the Marina.
Electricity
The pier in Finikas Marina is equipped with 220 V.

Sightseeing In Syros
Hermoupolis: Capital of Syros and the Cyclades islands. Miaouli square in the heart of the island with the Town Hall designed by the German architect Ernst Ziller. Orthodox churches of St. Nicolas (basilica), of Transfiguration (baroque) and of Assumption with the icon of El Greco. Apollo theater, similar to Scala of Milano. Museums: Archeological in the Town Hall and Industrial museum next to Iroon square. One of the most famous cemeteries in Europe (sculpture museum) is in the Orthodox church of St. George.
Ano Syros: The Catholic cathedral of St. George and the narrow labyrinth streets without cars. Syros also has wonderful countryside with beautiful villas build in 19th century. Far away from the 2 towns (1 hour walking) you can admire one of the most famous Prehistoric Acropolis (3rd millennium B.C.), in Chalandriani.
